areaagencies.com is an independent, privately run website. We explain how Area Agencies on Aging work so that older adults and families know where to start — in plain English, with no jargon.
Why we built this
Area Agencies on Aging are some of the most useful local resources in the country. They can deliver meals to your door, drive you to doctor appointments, and send someone to help around the house — often at no cost to you. But most people have never heard of them, and if they have, they have no idea how to ask for help.
Government websites are hard to read. Agency pages go out of date. Phone numbers change. We built this site to fix that — one plain-English guide at a time.
What we do
- Explain what Area Agencies on Aging are and what they can do for you
- List every agency in every state with current contact information
- Walk through the steps to ask for help — in plain language
- Describe every program an AAA typically offers, what it costs (usually nothing), and who qualifies
- Update pages regularly as programs and phone numbers change
What we do not do

- We do not collect personal information or sell data
